Data Spacing is the Social Distancing your Data Needs
A few notes on data spacing and uncertainty.
Continue ReadingConvinced that my PhD (Permanent Head Damage) has shorten my life expectancy in a few years, I decided to embark on the LMC project hoping to expand the reach of geostatistics to everyone, and bring peace to my inner self. I consider geostatistics one of the most important sciences out there. We geostatisticians are not constantly looking to the universe trying to answer the big questions, nor trying to go to Mars for mining purposes. Rather, we are doing something important right here and right now on Earth. We are taking care of our precious limited mineral resources that will guarantee that the next generations can pursue their dreams and have the right resources to support a better future on Earth and eventually colonize Mars (please take me). I love geostatistics but I hate writing. For me, they stand on the opposite sides of a Normal distribution. Working with some of the most brilliant people I have ever met and sharing their love on the subject has motivated me to write about geostats. I am trying, as hard as I can, to spread geostatistics to everyone in a simple language, and this is why I am here.
