Born and raised in Edmonton Alberta, I had no idea what a Geologist was as they were all living in some town three hours south of me (giving the town a name would only make it more human). What better way to figure it out then to blindly enroll in a degree in Geology and see how it goes, right?! Thankfully I’ve loved it and have never looked back! After graduating, I worked in a variety of geological settings and commodities as a Junior Geologist working on gold, iron, copper, titanium, vanadium, and silver deposits within Nunavut, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Greenland.

When the markets shit the bed in 2014, I returned to the University of Alberta to complete a Masters Degree and begin my tumble down the geostatistical rabbit hole. After graduating and returning to an industry job, I quickly found it difficult to communicate what I had learned in a meaningful way that would resonate with those smart enough not to study geostatistics for years and instead, live their best lives. In an attempt to bridge the gap between industry and academia, I’ve decided to spend my free time writing blog posts about geostatistics ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
